Hi, I'm Christian!
My Mission:
My mission in starting Cardiac Kid LLC is to educate and inspire clients to take control of their health and fitness. Through interactive presentation-style lectures, live demonstrations and activities, clients will learn key principles on exercise and other lifestyle factors that contribute to one’s health and well-being. Accompanying exercise sessions will allow clients to put their new knowledge into practice, and ongoing assessments and feedback will be provided. As a whole, the program will serve to educate, encourage, and empower clients to implement healthier habits and decisions into their own lives in pursuit of their unique health and fitness goals.
My Background:
I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2015 with a B.S. in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. My undergraduate curriculum included a vast stretch of topics on human anatomy and physiology as they relate to exercise: Adaptations with exercise, exercise in special populations, exercise testing and evaluation, and clinical applications for exercise, among others. Cardiac pathophysiology (heart problems) was a focus of my undergraduate studies; this led me to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where I interned in their cardiac rehabilitation department under Dr. Philip Ades, a renowned expert in the field of cardiac rehabilitation. Shortly thereafter, I was hired at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire as an Exercise Physiologist in their Cardiac Rehabilitation department. I worked there for nearly five years and helped to transform our department into an educational oasis; I worked to overhaul our education curriculum, developing presentations, lectures and materials for a range of topics around cardiac health, and I taught the classes daily on a rotating schedule. Prior to my departure from the Hospital, I was fortunate enough to be awarded a Commendation by New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu for my work. I recently completed my studies in pursuit of an M.B.A., which I also completed at the University of New Hampshire.
